I don't think it's putting out 154 lb-ft of torque. Recently they put out 113 lb-ft (208 hp).

Had both a Vmax and a Valkyrie. Loved them both but my favorite was my Valkyrie!! Wish I could get another one!!

The Shadows are awesome bikes- there is a mod to advance the timing and you can replace the carb jets that were chosen by Honda for emissions... it'll wake it up a bit. I swapped a sprocket and got the RPM down a little on the highway.

I have a Spirit, but because it was my dad's and when he passed I had to keep it- I've always wanted the ACE version. Slowly, I'll be making changes to it to suit my taste- like passing lamps and more chrome. The two-tone ACE is gorgeous, and I have no desire at all to own a Harley.

I actually have a 48 pan and I ride my kawasaki vulcan way more than my Harley lol I just rather ride the vulcan because..if you ever owned a panhead I don't know about you but I'm 62 yo and starting the pan is actually a pain.... hmm just saying... enjoy what you have nnn God bless and be kind to others 🙏

Hearing protection dangerous because you can't hear anything... I have ear plugs, they make it easier to isolate sounds and I can actually hear better, just like when I first started riding and could hear the cars running over metal things that would bounce around on the road making ting ting noises, and I kept checking my bike to make sure something hadn't fallen of IT! The earplugs soften the background noise, and you can tune into sounds that are abnormal! too light to set off the traffic light sensors... YES definately, but more so with Alloy bikes that don't have the same effect on a Magnetic field as Steel! but that's why I stop far enough ahead so the car behind me can set it off. but that doesn't always work, because car driver just dont know that they need to stop on the correct sensors, and often stop before they reach them, or well after them so the set off the red light camera instead... and that maybe why they decide to stop so early and never get the turning light!

Highway... from where I work to where I live, I get on at one on ramp, it is BUSY, and not far ahead is an Off ramp, nearly 1/2 the cars need to swap lanes to get into the correct lane for where they need to go. this is a very slow section because of this, and when someone finds a gap big enough to force themselves into the next lane, they do exactly that, The Bikes tend to use the very inside lane to stay away from this maddness. but it is scary in a car, and I have seen a road rage incident where a 4 axle truck pushed a car off the side because he slowed to let traffic merge, and he nearly took out a heap of other cars in the process... and this is only the begining of what I deal with on the motorway every afternoon... I wont ride the bike here at this time of day, I don't even like driving there in the car!

4 years late but I'm gonna say my bit on loud pipes. I hate hearing the Criminal Gangs riding in big mobs on the motorway, or anywhere, and how loud they are is ridiculous, they only do it to be heard, seen and intimidate people. Don't be one of those aunts! because people actually want to knock them off their bikes on purpose! a louder than normal bike that can be heard over traffic however... I ride, I look out for bikes coming up in my mirrors when I am in the car... but some of the quiet ones, and the way people ride them, I have been startled by them suddenly being there, with no prior warning. Other riders attract attention in rear view mirrors long before they appear, and they are not the ones swapping lanes and suddenly appearing, they are the ones that only go BETWEEN TWO lanes to give the people ahead of them as much chance as possible to see them... and this is what is going to save your life! BUT when I hear a Bike, I look out for it. there is a DUKE 390 that I see every day because I can hear the Bop Bop Bop Bop from a good 100m away. there is a Yamaha, that I see coming because he rides up the median really slow as he passes all the cars, even though his bike is as quiet as a cat while you are looking for it! and then there is a Black GSX-R 1000 I often see doing wheelies while I'm on the way to work... I see that front wheel up long before I hear his factory exhaust. but an 8R... I hear that and every time I think "what is that?" I can hear that a way off, and it sounds so good I want to see it... and the fact that he plays with the throttle makes the sound stand out more amongst the other street noise!... The LOUD pipes wont save you life, they may actually put it at risk from pissed off members of the public. but an audible exhaust will get attention... as will riding in a way that is both noticeable and predictable! and that is definitely more important! but the audible exhaust will get you noticed, by people who Love Bikes, People who hate bikes, and the Police! so If you want an (Audible) exhaust, play with the throttle, as the changes in note will make people look to see what it is. a constant noise will not (unless it's a large single like the Duke390) but don't be stupid, just because you can attract attention, you may attract unwanted attention!

My buddy/neighbor already had an M109R. So i went for the Raider. Even tho the Raider has the bigger engine. The Boulevard still leaves the Raider. I love them both tho. You cant go wrong with either choice.

My first was a 2012 with the 103.Now I have the 2018 .I know the big light has saved my life several times.They can actually see you.

Handlebars are canted to the right. Jay leno said his brakes sucked to they litterally went out. The bike sounds nice fix the seat. Ill take it if ya dont want it. I always worry about super long wheel base bike snapping forks off at the neck.

I'll second every thing he says. base on my personal experience, find that the sidewalls on tubed tires aren't as stiff as tubeless tires. also I discovered on tubed tires, I don't hear the pop when the beads sit. forgot to mention about the direction of rotation on some tires.

Novel idea on the car tire in the rain…never have seen any problem in the rain! You do need to remember to grease your wheel every 8-10,000 miles…FYI from the Darkside!

Bought a 2009 classic new in 2010. Right from the start 5th gear made a slight metallic ratcheting noise. Dealer said nothing was wrong with it. Said keep riding. Took it to another dealership at 1500 miles. Same crap, said nothing was wrong and keep riding it. The noise just continued to get louder and louder over the years. Now it’s insane. Metallic clattering in 5th and 5th only. Yamaha won’t acknowledge my attempts to contact them. Obviously it has 5th gear issues. I’ve found online this isn’t uncommon. 5th gear wasn’t put in properly at the factory and is basically eating itself. I’m scared to use 5th now and can’t sell it. A transmission repair would be thousands according to my local bike shop. They quoted me $1500 just to diagnose. Not even fix. Apparently you have to completely remove and split the engine.
